About

Barbara Swanner grew up in Baltimore, Maryland with a passion for exploring the world through visual media and Maryland-style blue crabs. Her path took her to the Metro Detroit area, where, in 1999, she graduated from the Center for Creative Studies with a B.F.A. and then to Atlanta, where she’s set down roots. Barbara specializes in painting and ceramic arts and also has a combined 17 years of teaching experience under her belt. When she’s not creating or teaching, can be found drinking sweet tea alongside her husband and their spoiled Labrador retriever Daisy Mae.
